This is an antioxidant rich elderberry tea packed with immune boosting benefits. These elderberries are of the highest quality and have a rich dark berry flavor. They are dried to perfection, to preserve the antioxidant benefits.

We blended the rich flavor of elderberry with blackberry, blueberry, hibiscus and papaya for an herbal tea that is as lovely iced as it is hot. If you want to make it boozy just add a bit of prosecco to make a quick sangria.

What is Elderberry?

Elderberries are the regular choice for companies that create products that may ward off cold and flu. Other related antioxidants that boost the immune system are sold in stores such as zinc, vitamin C and, echinacea.

Compared to buying a syrup in the store, drinking elderberries tea is a much more affordable alternative.

The dark purple, almost inky berries come from the Sambucus tree, also known as the Elder tree.

Elderberries need to be cooked before they can be consumed safely. Other parts of the plant such as the leaves and stems are mildly toxic. Just like those, the fresh berries carry the same mild toxicity. Eating them fresh will create a unpleasant stomach ache and possibly nausea.  This makes brewing the elderberries in tea form the perfect way to enjoy the beverage.

There are some evidence of effectiveness however it's not recommended for pregnant, breastfeeding women or for babies. There hasn't been enough research on this topic so most healthcare providers are reluctant to recommend it. Check with your doctor before taking any supplements white pregnant or breastfeeding.
